Robin Schwartz

Robin Schwartz integrates animals into most of her shots. But see the differences in approach between the Arabbers and the Animal Affinity series. I also recommend The Primate Portraits series. It is fantastic.

Olympia and McClure

Really feeling the layout of Buy Olympia. Simple, manageable, effective. Always feeling the work of papercut superstar Nikki McClure. The journal shown has probably been out forever but that's okay.

Ana Teresa Fernandez

Ana Fernandez has a show up right how at the Luggage Store that looks superb. The 2 images on the gallery site of the woman hanging the sheets are beautiful. Fecal has some pics of the show as well.

Nas

"...you don't know how high the sky is, the square mileage of earth, or what pi is..." - Queens Get the Money. via every stupid music blog around.

Dark Knight

I haven't seen a movie in the theater since a late night No Country For Old Men sesh at the Four Star, scary stuff. But I am I going to see the new Batman, in the IMAX. Read this nice article on the 18 wheeler. Carry on.

Studiomama

Nina Tolstrup, a Danish designer working out of London, built this little cottage chalet beach hut contraption on the shore of a harbor (harbour) town called Whitstable in the Southeast England. So nice.

Thrasher 1981

Thrasher posted all of their first year's issues online via slideshow and/or downloadabe PDF. Be nice to have those covers framed. Lots o' skating posts lately. I don't know what my deal is.

Budweiser

So the Anheuser-Busch sale went through. I don't know how to feel about it. This type of shit is probably more bothersome, I guess as long as you can still find it cold?

Caitlyn Kuhwald

Checked out the Renegade Craft Fair in Fort Mason yesterday. There I saw the work of illustrator Caitlyn Kuhwald. Really great stuff. The Marina Safeway at 4pm on a Sunday not so much.

500

This is my 500th post. It is actually 501 but it was requested that I take one down a few months back and I did. Not much else to say. Thanks if you check regularly, now go buy yourself a Descendents record.

Stepen Salmieri

Stepen Salmieri has a great looking photo show up at Joseph Bellows Gallery in San Diego. The whole show is of Cadillacs and is all done with B&W film. It is up until August 30th. via Coudal.

Skatebook

Flipped through the new Skatebook last night. It is really nice but strange at the same time. Huge, heavy, beautiful but half of the pages are ads. Which is fine I guess. Also, Cardiel is the best and watch Tent City.

Wallride 16

Crailtap's Wallride Catalog Issue 16 is worth a look purely from design and art direction standpoint. Girl's Beauty and the Beast Board Series is excellent. Download the PDF here if you are over the Flash.

Onethousandnotes

I finished up another little Blogger site for myself. It is called Onethousandnotes. I am going to use it as an app to try and remember useful blurbs. I think I can get it to work from my phone. We will see.

David Acheson

Canadian artist, David Acheson, is represented by the Cutts Gallery in Toronto. A few of his highlight pieces are the huge epoxy sculptures and the swing installation.

Alex Ostrowski

Alex Ostrowski has a great portfolio of posters and books. The thing is, every piece seems to be founded on Smiles, Happy, Fun and shit. I am an envious of the optimism to say the least. via It's Nice That.

Paul Paper

Paul Paper is a photographer living in Lithuania. I really like his work but I really like the fact that he offers a small postcard set for sale on his site. I wish more photographers would do this.

More Tables of Content

Smashing Magazine took a page from Design Observer by posting more examples of Tables of Content yesterday. And yeah, that first little publishing project...not yet finished, almost 3 months later. Good work.

Bionic Contacts

Babak Parviz is a professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington who is putting active circuitry into contact lenses. You can see where this is going.
